Congratulations to Michael McKay on his doctoral defense, titled “Fault Tolerant Control of Multirotor Vehicles” on October 28, 2021.

Mike will be working as a senior engineer in the Handling Qualities group at Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company.

The MOVE PhD students were able to get together on October 7^th to celebrate many achievements together after a long year and a half of working remote, including:

• The graduation of Praneet Vayalali and Michael McKay
• The marriage of Airin Dutta & Soumik
• The marriage of Praneet Vayalali & Sai
• Etana Ferede’s wife, Rosa, moving to the United States
• Welcoming the new PhD students to the lab

Dr. John-Paul Clarke visited RPI from UT Austin to present the Hemke Lecture, titled “Towards Increasingly Autonomous Aircraft-enabled Mobility,” on October 6^th during the Fall 2021 Colloquium Series. Dr. Clarke’s lecture discussed challenges surrounding the adoption of advanced aerial mobility (AAM), specifically focusing on autonomous decision-making.  

Congratulations to Praneet Vayalali on his doctoral defense, entitled "Post-Damage Reconfiguration for Rotorcraft with Control Redundancy" on September 29, 2021. 

Praneet will be working at Volocopter GmbH as a Simulation Engineer in Bruchsal, Germany.
