RPI welcomed the visit of Dr. Jose Palacios from Penn State as a Lecturer for the Fall 2021 Colloquium series.
Dr. Palacios’ lecture, titled “Rotorcraft Icing” was presented on September 22, 2021. The lecture informed the audience of challenges associated with the modeling of ice accumulation on rotor blades, as well as the importance of addressing this issue to the success of eVTOL aircraft operations in all climates. Dr. Palacios shared knowledge and expertise he gained through collaborative projects with groups such as NASA, GE, and the U.S. Army, as well as research he conducted in his own laboratory at Penn State.
