MOVE student Brendan Smith won the 2019 Robert L. Lichten speaking competition at the Northeast Regional VFS chapter meeting in Stratford, CT on December 4th, 2019. The competition is for first time presenters who have not previously presented work at a technical meeting.

His presentation, titled "A Comparison of Multicopter Noise Characteristics with Increasing Number of Rotors," won him the honor among a field of students and Sikorsky engineers competing. We also congratulate Matthew Bahr, who won the runner up prize presenting "Performance and Handling Qualities Assessment of Large Variable-RPM Multi-Rotor Aircraft for Urban Air Mobility."

Brendan, pictured with Sikorsky Technical Fellow Bill Welsh, will now compete in the national competition by submitting a paper for consideration among the other regional winners.

Congratulations and good luck Brendan!
